Dear Sister Ett
Yours & Susans kind letters came to hand Saturday night just after dark You had better believe they were received with feeling of deep gratitude
Saturday morning six Companies were ordered on picket at 8 o.Clock we were on our march we had got about 2 miles from camp when it commenced raining quite hard Our Co was thrown out as the advanced guards when we got to our posts we were soaking wet. We went to work and fixt up our bow houses and fixt our oil cloths over them for a roff and cralled in under them after stationing our guards
But to our joyful surprise about three or four o.clock it stopped raining
