Libby Prison Nov. 28th 1863
Dear Father, yours of the 8th came to hand yesterday & finds me well, little or no news & not much of interest; we feel that our armies are doing good work under Grant although accts are meager.
The Surgeons have been sent off since my last letter to you.

I shall drop a line to Gen. Meredith to know whether has reced such a letter or not & if he forwarded
