Dear Sir.
I made the acquaintance of your son Lieut T D. Kimball Jr in Prison at Charleston, S.C. He gave me your address and requested me to write to you. I saw him on the 24th of Sept and would have written to you sooner, but my memorandum was misspelled and I could not remember your address. When I left him he was very much reduced by chronic diarrhea and had very little hope of ever reaching home. I was of the opinion that his only hope was in being exchanged very soon, and I sincerely hope that his exchange has been affected and that he has entirely recovered if such is the case I will be highly gratified to hear from him.
I am Sir
Very Respectfully & to
E C. McMillan
